While most of our clientele are couples who prefer the freedom and flexibilities that come from civil style wedding ceremonies held in a wide range of venues, there are some couples who still prefer to have their marriage performed within a church setting.

For these couples, this is the practical solution to being able to have the light-hearted civil style ceremony they want while having it performed in a church to respect preferences of their parents or grand-parents.

For other couples, churches are an affordable option for being able to provide a weather protected environment for just the ceremony while the reception occurs elsewhere. There are few locations in Ottawa beyond expensive hotels and federal museums and galleries where you can rent a venue just for the ceremony.

And since the churches have their own built in seating, there is no need to contract and pay for seating and its delivery, installation, and removal, as couples using the few other public venues, such as the Rockcliffe Pavilion must do.

Although most churches will not allow external clergy to perform ceremonies within their premises, we are familiar with several in the Ottawa area who will rent their facilities for both civil style, spiritual, and religious wedding ceremonies. As this fact is not well known, often these churches are available during the peak wedding season when venues elsewhere have long been booked solid.

This church venue option provides the opportunity to balance a number of family interests about the wedding ceremony and also enables the ceremony to be designed and performed without the heavy "churchiness" of most religious weddings. Couples can then have a ceremony which balances both tradition along with refreshing innovation and please all of the stakeholders in their wedding ceremony.

We are both licensed by the Registrar General of Ontario as clergy and are accepted by all of these churches that may be used.

If you think that you and your guests deserve a superior and enjoyable wedding experience, contact us (Lynne or Keith) at 613-831-7555 to see how we can help your execute your vision perfectly.
